🎓 Internship: Food Safety & Certification (FSSC 22000)
📍 Amsterdam (hybrid) | 📅 Start: May 2025 | ⏳ 5–6 months | 💸 €250/month + travel costs

Internship
The main goal of this project is to manage the FSSC 22000 certification process at our plant-based cheese production site in the lively Houthavens neighbourhood in Amsterdam. You will be be involved in the various stages of the certification process, in collaboration with a consultancy company. The work will consist of integrating ISO22000 requirements with relevant prerequisite programmes for the plant-based food sector and implementing a Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
Topics related to the certification process are food fraud policy, food safety and quality culture, allergen management, food defense, environmental monitoring, quality control, food waste management, preventing cross- contamination, communication, organizing trainings, verification by performing internal audits, and preparing the company management for external audits.
This internship is a good opportunity to put theory into practice, and be part of a small and growing innovative company taking its next step in professionalization. In this hybrid internship, you will be working on location with our friendly team, but can also work from home part of the week. This project will start mid-May 2025 (in mutual agreement), with a duration of 5- 6 months working 4 days a week. Compensation will be €250 per month, travel expenses can be covered.

The company
MAX&BIEN produces culinary plant-based cheeses. The company was founded in 2018, and has since then launched the first plant-based Gouda cheese wheel and won several awards with their products, which are available in national supermarkets, various wholesalers and restaurants. With a background in the culinary world and food science, their focus is always on making their products delicious, nutritious ánd sustainable. We work in a small and social team of 4-5 people, and care about creating a safe, fruitful and fun work environment.

At our production facility for plant-based cheese in Amsterdam, we’re looking for a new colleague to come and strengthen our friendly team.
Who are you?
You are a team player who is used to doing physical work. You are motivated with a quality mindset. You are punctual but flexible. You love learning and have the ambition to advance within a production environment. You have an affinity with plant-based food.
Together with the production manager, you will be involved in the production of various plant-based cheeses. As a production operative, you will ensure that the production process runs smoothly. Besides that, you will be responsible for goods receipt, checking, putting away and packing. You will also work hygienically and keep the production area clean and tidy.
You will work in all areas of production. This will help you get to know the company and all its production processes so that you will soon become broadly deployable.
